This is the website for the Association of Old Boys of Westminster City School, 55 Palace Street W1 aiming to keep Old Boys literally around the World informed, in touch, entertained and suitably nostalgic for their schooldays! A Century ago in 1908 the then Headmaster Dr. Stevens, with remarkable vision for the future, saw the importance of lifelong friendships that could be fostered amongst Old Boys and so the Old Westminster Citizens’ Association was born. The emphasis on sporting traditions that was so important in encouraging Old Boys to join OWCA in 1908 continues through the Old Westminster Citizens’ Football Club. Ours is still a
flourishing association one hundred years on and celebrated the centenary at a dinner in London on 28th March 2008 attended by some 200 Old Boys, past teachers and special guests. Please visit the gallery to see pictures of this great event. The Old Westminster Citizens’ Football Club also celebrated their Centenary in October 2008 with the First X1 playing the Southern Amateur League X1 along with our veterans playing Alleyns Vets. Again pictures of this marvellous day are in the gallery.
The annual reunion dinner was held on the 27th March (the 101st) and pictures can be viewed in the gallery section. OWCA maintains very close links with the School and, through its Trust Fund, provides finance to support a number of activities and projects.
We would ask you to register your e-mail address with us through this site. This really is important - not to bombard you with junk mail but to keep you informed with alerts solely of OWCA, School and Football club news and reunions. It will also enable you to access the protected areas of this site containing the Member’s list and forum.
Most of all PLEASE ENJOY THE SITE, REGISTER and KEEP IN TOUCH!
If you have news, pictures or any information for the site please e-mail Bob Blanchett OWC at r.blanchett@owca.org.uk
